Our Teachers

All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children.

They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

photo Amie Furber

Amie has her undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Special Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. After teaching for a few years, her focus turned to starting her own family. Because she has such a passion for working with young children and their families, she looked for opportunities that were compatible to a stay-at-home mom.

Music Together of the TN Valley was first brought to Alabama in 2005 by Amie after she fell in love with the program while participating with her son, Connor. They enjoyed 3 song collections while living in Georgia. Unfortunately, an immediate move to Alabama ended their music experience. She was pregnant with her daughter Graysen, and desperately wanted to participate in a music program the whole family could join together. Without hesitation, Amie trained to become a Music Together® teacher and director, opening her first location in Madison at Messiah Lutheran Church. Within a year, she was able to offer Huntsville classes.

Beth attended school at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and has a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education, as well as a master's degree in Differentiated Instruction.  Beth comes from a musical family that has always enjoyed singing together.  She has played the flute for ten years and enjoys exploring the ukulele.  She currently teaches at the UAH Early Learning Center in one the Rise preschool inclusion classrooms.  Teaching at ELC has given her a love of early childhood education and also introduced her to Music Together.  The Music Together - In School curriculum provided music classes at ELC, and Beth and her students enjoyed four music collections.  She was drawn to Music Together by the quality of the music itself and the music skills and concepts that she saw her students learning while they were also having so much fun!  She is so excited to be teaching a family class and to help facilitate others in making musical moments with their families.

Emily received her Elementary Education degree from The University of Alabama and put it to use teaching first grade.  After having children, she continued her love for education, music and fitness with her own four kids.  She discovered Music Together when her oldest was about 10 months old.  Wyatt, Josephine, Thomas and Henry all grew up dancing and singing their way through the Music Together program.  After 7 years of participating in the program as a parent, she will now teach and continue to share her love and knowledge of music with your children.
