Have fun playing and singing together (yes, babies sing!) while you meet and form lasting friendships with other parents and their babies. Your family will receive:
- 45-minute classes once a week for 9 weeks specifically designed to help you give your child the very best start in his or her musical development
- Music Together® songbook with special insert about music development in infants
- CD and digital download of all the current collection songs
- Booklet about music and child development
- Want to attend classes before your baby is born? Email me for details!
This is the essential Music Together® class, one that a child can attend from birth through age five through all the nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child-development researchers--grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because all the children in the family can go to one class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, chanting, moving, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregiver--parents, grandparents, nannies--can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience! Included in this session's tuition are:
- 45-minute classes once a week for 9 weeks (Up to 2 make-up classes can be scheduled within a session if you have to miss class.)
- Music Together current song collection songbook
- CD and digital download featuring the current song collection, plus online support and a "Family Music Zone"
- Booklet about music and child development (for families new to the program)
- Discounted tuition for siblings; siblings under 8 months and 6 or older attend free
Rhythm Kids Level 1™ (ages 4-5 w/ parent or caregiver)
Rhythm Kids Level 1 is geared for preschoolers who are ready to take their next music step. Each week we drum, sing, dance, play instruments and begin to play music-based games. Rhythm Kids Level 1 guides children toward developmentally appropriate music and movement activities, where they can begin to take charge, lead others, and be musically creative as they make up their own drumming patterns, invent new ways to play rhythm instruments, create movement ideas for songs and even take a drum solo! Families get a songbook, 2 CDs and access to the online Family Music Zone with great in-home ideas and video drum-alongs! Bring your child's favorite drum to class!
Rhythm Kids Level 2™ (ages 5-8): Brought to you in collaboration with Music Together.
Rhythm Kids Level 2 is an exciting drumming, music and movement class for children in Kindergarten through second grade. Children integrate and assimilate rhythm by learning multicultural drumming patterns, developing new repertoire on various percussion instruments, learning music-reading readiness, exploring movement and dance while singing songs and by playing fun, music-based games! Families get a songbook, 2 CDs and access to online materials, drumming tutorials and video play-alongs. Consider this the begining step of instrument study! Students should have their own hand drum for use at home and for use in class. Parents/caregivers are welcome to drop-off their children.
Our guitar class for grownups is designed for parents and caregivers of children currently enrolled in Music Together classes at MTTNV. In these 60-minute classes, you will learn to play songs from our current song collection so you can have even more fun with your child making music at home! Enjoy building your skills and developing your muscianship in an easy, relaxed setting with other parents of little music-makers. Class participants will receive a workbook and must bring their own guitar, capo, and tuner.
